A Fan of the God
Youth. Father. Wise Man. We are in the midst of the God season where we focus on male energy--the endless spirit and optimism of the Youth, the strength and responsibility of the Father, and the wisdom and experience of the Wise Man (EVERYONE has masculine energy, girls included!) . Put these qualities to work as Winter wears on. To remind yourself of the masculine energy in you, make a God Energy fan:

You'll need:
  • Paper
  • Crayons, markers and/or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • A recycled cereal or other cardboard box
  • Glue
  • One brass fastener (if you don't have one of these, you can tie the bottom with yarn, ribbon or string)
  1. Print out the fan and color it in any way you like.
  2. Carefully cut out each fan blade, including the small hole at the bottom
  3. Using one of the fan blades, trace the shape onto your cardboard--make one for each blade, then cut these out (don't forget the hole at the bottom).
  4. Line up the your coloring page blade with the cardboard backing and glue them together. You might want to print out and color two of each blade so you can see the fan images on both sides.
  5. Let the glue dry, then trim any excess paper or cardboard edges if needed.
  6. Stack the fan blades one on top of the other in order: Youth, Father, Wise Man, then insert the brass fastener through all three blades and secure (or pass your ribbon through all three blades and tie).
Pull out your fan when you need a dose of energy, strength and wisdom--used carefully with adult supervision (remember, it is made of paper), it can also be used for smudging. Winter blessings, and look for a Goddess Energy fan when we enter her season!

A Fan of the Goddess
Maiden. Mother. Crone. At Beltane we enter the season of the Goddess where we focus on female energy--the innocence, potential and wonder of the Maiden, the nurturing fullness of the Mother, and the wisdom and experience of the Crone (EVERYONE has feminine energy, boys included!) . Put these qualities to work as Spring blooms into Summer. To remind yourself of the feminine energy in you, make a Goddess Energy fan:
You'll need:
  • Paper
  • Crayons, markers and/or colored pencils

Pull out your fan when you need a dose of wonder, abundance and wisdom--used carefully with adult supervision (remember, it is made of paper), it can also be used for smudging.

What do you see in the skies over Stonehenge?
Some people think it's a calendar (sort of), others think it's a temple, but one thing that most people do agree on--because it happens even today--is that Stonehenge is significant to the Summer Solstice, the longest day and the shortest night of the year. (Visit almanac.com any year to get the dates of all the equinoxes and solstices.)

Stonehenge coloring page adapted from the original from coloringp.com

CLICK HERE to print out a picture of Stonehenge to color. But wait--this is no ordinary coloring page. You'll notice that the top half is empty. There have been stories of angels, spirits, and even UFOs flying over Stonehenge (and other ancient sites too). Because Stonehenge is such a special place, you don't have to physically travel to be there (but, of course, it's nice if you can!). Look at the picture, close your eyes and let your imagination take you to the Salisbury Plain and see the stones rising before you...
